This looks like one of those marvelous fantasy book covers they used to do couple decades ago (John Howe comes to mind). The pose, the colors, the background. This is one of my favorite pieces of fanart of all time.

It's not about what caused the fires. It's about why they are so devastating, which is the extreme drought in the months before and the insane winds blowing in from the desert, making the containment such a struggle. Yes fires happen every year, but they have never been this bad.

I feel this is the exact spirit we need to survive what's ahead. Stay strong.
