Could be. How many of these guys are wanna be cops that believe being a cop puts them above the law? Then again a lot of cops think that way as well.

I'm a cradle Catholic atheist and went to some, I think, evangelical church to watch a niece perform in the church children's choir. The whole time I was judging the place as an ass backwards make believe religion where the sermon was an infomercial for the building fund.

It's been a while since I seen the movie but wasn't one of the plot points that he was attracted to his daughter, ie Trump?

I wonder how much money she had in her campaign fund back in 1998, when she was first elected. The law changed in 1998 disallowing personal expenditures with campaign funds but had a provision that any money in the at account as of dec 31, 1998 could be used for personal expenses.

This is completely anecdotal but I cashed out my accounts because I was just doing silly small prop bets and the tax was just too burdensome. However, I'm not doing smaller bets illegally. I would think the tax eliminated small stakes bettors instead of transferring them to illegal books.

One thing is his description of how TIF works is incorrect for Illinois. TIF here causes the tax rate to allocate over 100% of the tax levy or it adds additional amount to property taxes over the levied amount.

Elimination of TIF would cut City's property taxes by roughly a billion dollars.
November 18, 2025 at 12:45 AM
That is a factor but property values should only impact how property taxes get allocated other than a few exceptions like TIFs. The levy determines what is taxed with TIFs added on top. A simple solution is to eliminate TIF districts, which will cut property taxes by over a billion dollars.

The regular GOP didn't even try in the district then because the incumbent was a DINO and probably the closest to a Republican that could be elected in that district.

I know it won't happen but the Bears? Imagine Fields instead of Begent on the 2QB formation they run once in a while. This is more a Ben Johnson love post than anything post, though.

That makes sense. I'm in the more room in the tent meaning easing up on bashing MTG while she peels QAnon supporters from Trump. Best case scenario is the supporters become disillusioned from Trump and the GOP, and either don't vote or vote 3rd party. Worst case Dem leadership tries to court them.

The way the question is worded, Trump is the correct answer. But definitely can see how MAGA wouldn't want to accept that fact.

Omar Vizquel is the worst person on the ballot.

There is space, for an enemy of my enemy but she has to bend towards us to be embraced.

Enemy of my enemy usually means you accept the assistance but never fully let them in.

The reluctance to raise property tax levy to match inflation, reduces the purchasing power of the City. If you don't raise the levy then things need to be cut. No alder is saying what to cut other than vague statements that aren't really actionable for 26. Even the EY suggestions take time.

Data so far is showing autonomous cars are safer than human driven ones.

Eliminating human labor for the driver would make them cheaper, which would lead to more usage.

A question if robotaxis reduce the number of deaths on the road, should we accept that? I don't think the goal should be 0 deaths but less deaths. If robotaxis greatly reduced the amount of drunk driving, would it be worth it?

People vote for who they feel they can trust and identity is a major part of that. Democrats haven't lost the working class because the working class has a tough time identifying with national democratic candidates.
