I feel like The Utopia of Rules (2015) is the most underrated book of David Graeber. The analysis remains quite relevant and explains how we are “stuck” in the trichotomy of sovereignty, bureaucracy, and charismatic power, the idea to be developed in his later book with D. Wengrow.

I am now heading to Kyoto to attend the meeting of the American Philosophy Forum of Japan. This year’s theme is “Emersonian Perfectionism and the Tragic Sense,” and the keynote lecture will be given by René V. Arcilla and Paul Standish.
