Call me cynical, but I think Schumer did lead his caucus in the direction he wanted. He asked who would fall on the sword and got 6 Senators not up in 2026, one who is retiring, and one a Dem in name only. Easy peasy, saved his own face.

After all the grief this shutdown has caused millions of people, for the Dems to cave on an extension of ACA subsidies for one year would be unforgivable and a slap in the face to their base. Don’t f’ing cave at this point when so many supported you by voting just six days ago!

Brewster NY has a population of about 2500 and is in Lawler’s district. There were over 3000 peaceful protesters and Antonio Delgado, Lt Gov of NY was one of the speakers. Really awesome and inspiring! So glad to be a tiny part of it!!

100%. During his first term his administration was always saying “what he means is,” because what he was saying made no sense. Now they just let what he says stand because it makes it easier to push their agenda with him as a puppet.
