Does someone coach these cabinet members ahead of time on what to say?
Burgum: "Everybody I've met, whether it's at a coal mine or the border, law enforcement, the one thing they say is please thank President Trump from all of us."

The longshoremen and the truckers and the retailers who are going to lose their jobs are now fully reassured.
Trump on China: "They made a trillion dollars with Biden selling us stuff. Much of it we don't need. Somebody said, 'oh, the shelves are gonna be open.' Well, maybe the children will have two dolls instead of 30 dolls, and maybe the two dolls will cost a couple of bucks more."

A reminder.

Presidents often get too much credit - and blame - for what happens in the economy.

This one really is all Trump

If you question whether all billionaires are inherently more intelligent than the rest of us, consider how many supported the red hat guy in the last election in spite of said guy’s pledge to increase inflation and drive us into a recession.

I saw a pickup truck today that had a Trump sticker. That wasn’t the eye-popping part. It also had a sticker that read “Make Orwell Fiction Again, Legalize Freedom.” The cognitive dissonance here is astonishing.

This is how unions support their members. Not whatever the UAW President is doing.
STAND and DEMAND the immediate return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

BRING HIM HOME!

Abrego Garcia is a SMART Local 100 first-year apprentice who was working full-time to support his young family — before he was brutally abducted and illegally deported to El Salvador.

What is particularly heinous about his claim is the implied blaming of the victim.
The U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services has repeatedly claimed: “If you’re healthy, it’s almost impossible to die from an infectious disease in modern times.”

That is dangerously false.

I am beginning to notice a common thread with regard to the Doge cuts. Apparently “waste” is any money spent helping the average citizen.

Have you ever watched 1950’s sitcoms? So, so boring.
We're not ready for how eye-gougingly boring art is going to be under fascism.

Like Disney removing the context of Lilo taking photos of white tourists in order to remove the critiques of colonialism sucks all the depth and humor out of the scene.

It's so boring.

The number one unifying belief amongst all Trump supporters is that life is a zero sum game. For their religion to be valid, all others must be eradicated. Politics are about power, not service. Which is then used to ensure they can grab as much for themselves as possible.

Any company that goes back to doing business in Russia deserves what they get.
From the WH readout of Trump’s call with Putin, where Putin did not agree to a ceasefire. It seems that while Trump is launching a trade war with the EU and North American countries, Trump expects “enormous economic deals” with Russia soon.

Exactly .
One problem with the idea of reserving due process for law-abiding people is that due process is how we figure out which people are law-abiding.

Christians like to “think” they are persecuted because it feeds their feelings of self-righteousness.
No. Christians feel persecuted because there is a vast media apparatus telling them that they are persecuted. There is no evidence whatsoever of large-scale discrimination against Christians in this country.
Interesting story that gets to the heart of why many Christians feel persecuted in the U.S.: The secular elite find many of their views abhorrent and uncouth

Judge points out the very real problems with social media bans for kids.
Haven't seen this reported anywhere but a judge overseeing Florida's attempt to age gate all social media pointed to the failure of D&D to make him worship Satan as a kid to suggest the state needs actual evidence, and not just vibes about a social media moral panic. www.techdirt.com/2025/03/11/j...

I keep hearing people say we are in the midst of a fascist coup. The fascist part, yes, but not a coup. The American electorate VOTED for this, even if unwittingly. Stop saying coup, it absolves them of responsibility.
