No, The Thing is still the winner and always will be.

Regardless of the name I can’t get over those eyes.

“I have to decorate that f**king thing”?

To be fair, I’ve used the same word to describe more than one Reform politician.

Isn’t that $2000 supposed to pay for healthcare under his wonderful plan? Now he’s encouraging people to gamble it away?!

Bot licker.
November 27, 2025 at 8:39 PM
Nah, you’ve framed it as a windfall tax:
“Should those who are fortunate to be millionaires because of an accident of birth not contribute some back?” Buying a house in London isn’t an “accident of birth” but anyway.
November 27, 2025 at 3:11 PM
Surely this will be solved by Trump sending everyone $2k because then they can go to the insurers and demand whatever they want. 4D chess, art of the deal.
November 27, 2025 at 2:44 PM
It’s not like they’re paying the money out of the value of the house.

The way you’re describing it, it sounds like you see this as a windfall tax on Londoners because they just so happened to buy a house somewhere where house prices have gone up.

My stance has been that if they’re going to do this then at the very least do it by council tax band. Even if they just did the top band (is that H?) then they’d get revenue from every corner of the country rather than this which concentrates the hit in certain locations.
November 27, 2025 at 2:24 PM
Yeah, house prices are bonkers in London nowadays but they weren’t always. Why should the person in London be stung by an extra tax but your example of someone living in Falkirk in an identical house not?

I worked with Nus Ghani’s brother for years in IT. He was so proud when she became an MP. He’s one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, could do with more people like him and way fewer people like this miserable sow.

This is an example of the sort of house I’m thinking of. At some point, this would have been a modest 3 bed terraced house (before the roof extension). There are a lot of properties like this in London. www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/1...
Check out this 4 bedroom terraced house for sale on Rightmove
4 bedroom terraced house for sale in Clancarty Road, London, SW6 for £2,250,000. Marketed by Savills, Bishops Park

How would Yusuf know? Has he done any kind of investigation?
November 27, 2025 at 12:21 PM
You’re right though, I might be biased. I have elderly relatives who fit into this exact scenario and are not cash rich.
November 27, 2025 at 12:06 PM
I don’t own a house which is anywhere near £2 million. The point is that these people don’t live in these other parts of the U.K. Should they have to move if they can’t afford this extra tax? I don’t think that’s fair and I don’t think this policy has been fully thought through.
November 27, 2025 at 12:05 PM
I thought anger was righteously aimed at the genuinely rich and wealthy, not people who just bought a modest house in London 40-50 years ago.

Try promoting NFTs instead, that’ll go much better.
November 26, 2025 at 8:36 PM
Ok, that’s nice.
November 26, 2025 at 5:36 PM
Yeah, think that’s what I read too. I do wonder if there will be exemptions for people who can’t afford to pay. Assuming there will be plenty in London who bought a property 40 years ago and now fall into this category.

I’m pretty sure turkeys don’t eat beef.

£2 million + isn’t it?
