It’s a bad deal. We should hold firm.

Thank you, Senator!

Look at Politico - that seems to be most current.

Did they cave? They got agreement for a full year of funding for Agriculture (SNAP) and funding VA and a commitment to fund other parts of govt operations until the end of the year, along with a commitment for a vote to extend the ACA tax credits. What would be a win for us?

Would you consider taking Medicare? As a PDP? There’s friction for Medicare beneficiaries going out of plan. Leads to access issues.

There are all sorts of issues related to affordability. States provide prescription drug assistance programs to offset the premium costs for beneficiaries below a certain income level. The Medicare Savings Program is also a big help for some currently-this changes under the new legislation. Complex.

You're correct that Medicare Advantage enrollment is up just over 50 percent of the Medicare population. And MA plans include prescription drug coverage. If a Medicare beneficiary chooses original Medicare, they often purchase a Medigap plan, to cover copays/deductibles. And a separate drug plan.

Clarifying that "Original Medicare" is run by CMS - there is no plan. There are administrative contractors that process claims/apply CMS's payment policies/disburse funds (via Treasury Department). Very efficient. Med Advantage is different.

Hard to celebrate but remembering my WWII and WWI veteran beloveds and what they gave. Will not give in. Will not.

Thank you for your work to uphold the principles we still hold dear in this country (most of us, anyway). Keep the faith. Hold the line. We support you.

Ouch. Given how much it appears that President Biden was being shielded by his staff, this is plausible. Wish this weren't the case.

Love your commentary, but you're incorrect on this one!😀

Thanks for this observation. I've not engaged on BlueSky recently because there hasn't been as much interesting dialogue.

Me too! It was a great moment to share with my 27 year old son, who was born while Thurmond was still in the Senate.
