I then decided to rewatch HTTYD1 now that I was more mature, and it instantly became my favourite animated film of all time.
That kind of unbreakable bond between human and “beast” was so profoundly moving to me. I don’t often cry during movies, but I did during HTTYD. Toothless is the best <3

I started getting into more dragon-centric social media, where I found out about Wings of Fire.
That series was just a blast to read. That world - that sense of freedom and power - reignited my love for dragons.

As a child, I had this book all about dragons - different kinds, their appearance, traits, maturation, etc. Can’t remember its name, but that’s what started it for me.
Then it was HTTYD, a movie I loved watching in theatres. I adored the dragons in it, but i think I was too young to fully “get” it.
