Our doctor who provides gender-affirming care just let us know that our next appointment will be our last. They are federally funded and will loose their funding if they continue. We have no idea what we will do.

I have several fellow “trans-parent” friends who moved here from red states. We have one of the biggest and best gender-affirming care centers for kids in the country. At least we did. It got shut down on Tuesday.

Before January 2025, we have been incredibly happy with how my son has been treated. Family (mostly), friends, schools, doctors offices, etc. have all been supportive and made things very easy to use his preferred name/pronouns. We felt lucky to be here.

Intro: we live in a blue state, generally considered safe for LGBTQ humans. My son came out about 3 years ago. He is a teenager. He’s quiet, introverted, and IMHO a pretty amazing human.
