The Federal government gives BC $194 million annually to treat rare diseases.
Medications are not just for curing diseases but to alleviate suffering and improve quality of life.
If the drug was $1 the committee would never have been involved.

The BCCDC is conducting a survey on Long Covid in the province. They ask whether Long Covid was diagnosed by a healthcare provider, which could underestimate the prevalence. Share your thoughts!

Long COVID is real. These pillow cases tell the heartbreaking stories of some of the over 3.5 million Canadians who were previously healthy now suffering from this debilitating disease with over 100, 000 people unable to work.
Governments need to help them now.

They won the Nobel prize for their work developing Covid vaccines and they wore masks to receive their prizes - even after the advent of the vaccine they developed.
They are demonstrating that they understand that layering protections works better against infection than any one measure. Bravo!

So despite the welcome return of masks to many health care settings, both the PHO and the Minister of Health persist in spreading misinformation & minimizing risk. So why did they give us such a strong mask rule?
Only 2 of BC's 5 health regions reliably report hospital outbreaks. Here's 1 of them:

Lastly, why are the Ministry of Health, MInister @adriandix and PHO Bonnie Henry offloading the responsibility for requiring masking onto healthcare workers, and not having the courage to wear it themselves? #bcpoli

Public health authorities are *already* hauling out this discredited theory again. Here it is in a disguised form: the C-19 immunity task force blaming RSV on the pandemic. Perhaps RSV spiking *is* due to the pandemic, but not due to "immunity debt"?

What would it take?
We will have a go.
"Immunity debt" is the false theory that people (esp kids) got so sick last fall because for a very brief period early in the pandemic they were somewhat protected from viruses like RSV due to masks & to schools closing.
It's poppycock. Here's why. 1/x
