Serious experts (exegetes) n this field generally sees the warnings of Christ about damnation as the most relibaly authentic part of the New Testament. Wishful thinking of "Sweet Jesus" not being able to preach these things, are just-wishful thinking.

In fact, most Eastern Orthodox Churches follow the Revised Julian calendar since more than a century, and for the coming 800 years it is the same as the Gregorian.
Only Easter follows Julian calendar in all these churches.

The Psalms are sung: first the three (or, with typica-psalms, two) psalms at the beginning. The Prokimenon before the Apostle reading is an abbreviated psalm. And there are more f abbreviated psalms.
