Like jowling meated liverslime, Groop, I implore thee, my foonting turlingdromes, And hooptiously drangle me, With crinkly bindlewurdles.
"Remember?" I used Winamp this afternoon.

If the leader of one of those states acted outside their "authority" and waged war anyway, the country being attacked would be forced to defend itself.

I wish murder weren't a thing too, but that's never been true in any human society. Sadly it seems to be part of our nature.

Not even in war?

The death penalty should certainly not be implemented as it currently is in the U.S. But philosophically I'm not opposed to it in all cases. Executing serial killers, mass murderers, and tyrants seems like it could be part of a just system.

Traditionally we wait to execute people until after they have been found guilty of a capital offense at trial and sentenced to death.

Likewise, I find it morally wrong to God
goad Democrats into owning themselves over factious non-issues, especially when there are actual authoritarians in charge.

Those are empirical claims. Let's see the data.

Equating transgenderism with religious genital mutilation is not a serious response to this issue, and I say that as someone who thinks feminism has gone way off the rails over the past decade or so and did play a part in turning out Republican votes for Trump.

lol, are we supporting Iran now? Sometimes when people say the same thing consistently over time, it's because there's a consistent and true justification for it.
June 14, 2025 at 6:52 PM
Totally. The difference is that the US and Israel still (barely) have democratic institutions that (I hope) will eventually bring about peaceful transitions of power to (fingers crossed) more moderate regimes. Should those fail, Trump and Netanyahu will truly be no different than the Ayatollah.

I agree that Netanyahu, Smotrich, and their cohort need to be removed from power.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could trust Iran not to use nukes for aggression?

Pretty sure regime toppling is on the menu here. And given the regime in question, I'm not clear on why that might be considered a negative result. Let's restore control of Iran back to the Iranian people.

In an ideal world, yes, nonproliferation would be the goal. This is not an ideal world though, so it's reasonable for Israel to act against existential threats.

I'll go ahead and reiterate at this point that I don't think that's all Netanyahu is doing here.
June 14, 2025 at 2:36 PM
The ruling tyrants have also sworn to destroy Israel and are known to be actively pursuing nuclear weapons. Anyone who doesn't acknowledge that Iran poses a real danger to Israel is ignorant.

That said, Netanyahu wants Israel to stay at war forever so that he can escape the punishment he deserves.
