At least the next console will be backwards compatible. Ultimate will live on for quite some time lol.
I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they went the Mario Kart route and gave it the Deluxe treatment.

They would most definitely start it over. Sakurai himself said if there were ever another one, there’s no way it’d match the number of characters Ultimate had. I think it’d be too much of a legal nightmare to get all those licenses again. The cast would still be hefty, but no where near 80+ like ult

I’m sure if Nintendo wanted to make another one, they’d approach him first. And quite honestly I don’t see him turning it down. He supposedly, as of recently, started working on a new project. What that is, have no idea.

I’m so ready for a new smash game. There’s nothing like the excitement of a smash character reveal trailer. Nintendo really puts their whole ushy gushy into those videos.
