Apparently I am 57% Engand & Northwestern Europe, 37%Scotland,4% Denmark and 2% Cornwall.
I would identify as English, European and I suppose a bit Scottish (37%) but being called Donald is a bit of a giveaway. I was named after my father's cousin Donald who was killed in WWII.

Saw the film "Ocean" today. Frightening to see the destruction caused by the trawling but also heartening to know that there is something which can be done. Attenborough mentioned the UN Ocean Conference in France in June as being a potential turning point. I hope he's right.

Hi Iain
I don't know whether you have ever listened to Radio Caroline? I have it on my phone via a radio app
It plays album tracks. I thought it would be up your street!
Great stuff 👍

It would have been my father's 100th Birthday today, 6th December. Here are some pictures taken in various places, including the sea off Cyprus, where he was stationed with the RAF, the Trodos Mountains with a car in the snow

Marine biology in the Clyde 1982 just off the shore next to the University of Strathclyde Marine Laboratory at Kilcreggan.
Probably should have been looking down a microscope instead of messing about in boats! I'm sitting in the back.

Not my donkey, but one I met in North Cyprus two years ago. "Here's an apple"

This is one of my two published scientific articles from my time at the Marine Laboratory of Strathclyde University. Most of our work was in the Solway Firth. Lots of peering down microscopes and pickling specimens in formaldehyde.

Hey, says Beau, it says in the paper here-

"In Springfield, they’re eating the dogs. The people that came in. They’re eating the cats. They’re eating – they’re eating the pets of the people that live there. And this is what’s happening in our country, and it’s a shame"
