IMO, Future Season was underwhelming for me. This fic aims to wrap everything up, while adding something new to the story.

As someone who's... *very familiar* with those topics, I think it'd be a nice way to write my emotions down in the form of a novel. To have something productive come out of it, in a way that improves me for the better.

The main theme of this fic is the different kinds of pain and loss that you can experience, and the aftermath of those experiences and the affect they have on us, body and soul. How they change the way we view things and people, and how they changed us, for better or for worse.

...and it primarily deals with Spinel's trauma, her complex relationship with Pink and her abandonment issues, while under the setting of an apocalypse of Beach City overrun by Corrupted Gems, the source and cause enshrouded in mystery. The only lead she has is this mysterious new gem, Red.
