1/ A difference of 91 votes, y'all!
Just for reference, an automatic machine recount is triggered when: "the vote total difference between two candidates is less than 2,000 votes and also less than 0.5% of the total number of votes cast for both candidates" and a hand recount...

1/ Hey you! With the University of Washington (UW) email address. Watch out for scams. This one's cute, but let's go over how I tell it's a scam so you can spot these in the future.
1) who is Mrs. Lynn? She has no first name at all?
2) Eric Clapton's guitar *FOR FREE*??
3) just pay for shipping!

1/ Seattle! 2000 ballots need signatures (updates or didn't sign)!! Tell your friends to check their ballot status here: info.kingcounty.gov/kcelections/... And if you have time between now & Nov. 14, volunteer to help cure votes: linktr.ee/Wilsonforsea... ("Ballot Chasing for Katie Wilson")

Hey Seattle! If you're waiting for more results in the mayoral race, take a second to verify your ballot went all the way! In Aug 2024, I volunteered riding around the city getting folks to fix ballot issues for Public Lands race. Don't make me do it again! 🙏 info.kingcounty.gov/kcelections/...

SEATTLE, HAVE YOU VOTED, YET?! Get your ballot in a box by 8pm! Lost yours? Go to wa.omniballot.us/sites/53033/... to print a replacement. Your library has printers if you don't, free if you have a card. Hoping for a new mayor in @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social 🤞🤞

Before you get excited for Japan's first female PM, check her politics. Women aren't more virtuous and special because they're women. Thinking so is misogynistic the same way it is to think women are all ditzy and childish. Women are not angels and men animals. Women are humans. Don't pedestal us.

Zine WIP based on a quote in @benhoerman.bsky.social 's 3rd film on fascism, "The Aesthetics of Anti-Fascism". youtu.be/akSH-UIGca4 The painting's "a little prayer for those who migrate" by local artist @jakeprendez.bsky.social (via the Stranger's Public Art issue).

In true Me fashion, I have taken a simple idea to eleven. My little mobile free zine library isn't going to be ready for Saturday, so I'll have a sandwich board, instead. BUT BEHOLD MY ADORABLE LITTLE DOORS! I'm using shrink plastic for the "stained glass" windows. An Adafruit feather may get added.

1965: Marcos becomes president
1970s: students, others protest
1980: Marcos still president
1983: opponent assassinated, more protests
1984: general workers strike
1985: Marcos steals election, military joins protest
1986: Marcos flees
20 years.
We're working on it, David.
See you Saturday. 🏴🚩🇺🇲🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️✊

No car? No problem! I've turned my bike into a propaganda mobile. Making good use of the mail from a Seattle for @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social .
I 🚴Wilson for Mayor!

(Okay, I do have a car, but I drive it like once a month so it's not good for propagandizing)

And when I say meticulous...I mean... Look at this table of contents. Also, Seidel is up front that he's an atheist and, as someone who was raised Catholic, I can see how much of it, especially the Bible section, could feel like an attack. But I urge you to remember he's not attacking religion...

Another recommendation for #antifascistBookclub. Seidel meticulously debunks the claim that America is a "fundamentally Christian nation": from what the founders believed, to how biblical justice conflicts with liberal justice, to "in God we trust" and "one nation under God" to 1st amendment, etc.

Hoping @mark-bray.bsky.social and his family make it to safety. I read his book last year and it's one I decided I needed to own. If you haven't read it, you should. Do it for #bannedBooksWeek and #antifascistBookclub . Thank you for your work, Dr. Bray. ✌️💪🚩🏴

🚲 vs 🚗 - Friday afternoon Seattle commute edition.
No traffic. No contest. I win.
Not shown: the massive traffic snarl at Roosevelt south of 45th where construction funneled all SB traffic into one lane, SB I5 traffic into Seattle, and the confluence of Montlake Blvd NE and NE Pacific Place.

Working on a little mobile zine library. I'm hoping to make it look like a cute little house, with a roof and lights. Gonna get some ortlieb hardware so I can attach it to my bike like a panier. And, of course, waterproofing will happen. Building materials: leftover cardboard and wood glue.
