NO Kings, no dictators! Salida Colorado turned out on Saturday with nearly double the participants from the last protest. This is a town of 6000 and 1450 people showed up! We all have to! Te government takeover by Trump and entourage was and is not normal. #protests #NoKings #politics #democracy

A beautiful sunset if brilliant orange, yellows and blue over the wetland refuge of Bosque del Apache in New Mexico. You will hear thousands of snow geese and sandhill cranes when they migrate through here every year from November to January and stay for the winter months. Thirsty? This is how cormorants get "watered". Double-crested cormorants, often enjoy the same rookery that the great blue herons nest. This is the rookery where the heron shot shown below was photographed, the year before the trees blew down near Florence, Colorado

An adult double-crested cormorant perches on a limb beside the nest providing water to the 5 nestlings, thirsty in the hot sun. Four juveniles in black adolescent plumage have their necks outstretched to take in the water being spit from the adult. The fifth youngster, furthest from the adult, is preening. We'd never seen this behavior before. What a thrill!
