This is how I turn YouTube channels into podcasts, but I strongly think that at least 70% of YouTube really doesn’t need to be video anyway, especially the video essay channels and the reaction channels. https://podtube.me/ #youtube

It’s been a long time, but I’m starting the new year with a #fridayreads title that I started shortly after seeing Cory Doctorow talk at R.J. Julia’s.

I bought this edition of Down & Out *way* back when I first started reading Cory w/Overclocked*, Makers […]

It’s been a bit of year, but we made it and I have plans to blog about it…in 2026: https://prompted.ink/2025/12/31/next-years-itinerary-in-brief.html

Happy New Year, Fediverse! 🥳🥂🎆

#blogging #2026
Next Year’s Itinerary In Brief (and In Part)
A bit of a quick and dirty1 look what’s to come in 2026…which were posts I meant to do this year. It’s partly the result of launching the blog’s new home right before an important trip, followed by an unexpected launch day delivery2 that caused the lengthy delay this time—aside from work and a visit from extended family during the summer. One post will be more or less like the previous outings with the postcard being a dead giveaway as to my destination. Not sure if I’ll split that journey into two, but what I’ll be dividing into multiple posts is my review of the Switch 2. I’m actually glad I put this one off3 since now I have a better grasp about how I feel about the hardware and software. I was going to review _Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut_ at the end of the triage, but instead I’ll put up a poll on Mastodon and Bluesky (via a third-party app) during the following week with other games I played, both exclusive and enhanced titles, that better repersent the console4. I’ll also look for a way to have the same poll over here so, going forward, you can just vote here and (ideally) not have to log into a social media service to participate. There’s a few more posts implied in the picture, but the two major ones mentioned above will be my main focus5 as 2026 makes itself known. Hope you all had a great holiday season, no matter what you celebrate! Happy New Year and I’ll see you on the other side! _Note: I wrote this blog post on Micro.Blog’s app for the iPad so it might look a bit rough. Blogger’s never had an official app for iOS so this is a nice change (and a handy convenience when I’m too lazy to open up the laptop)._ * * * 1. Only dirty in the sense that I mentioned it in passing and will be blogging about CheapShow closer to their 11th Anniversary than the 10th. ↩︎ 2. Thanks to an invite that came immediately before said trip. I don’t blame people for being frustrated with the price and I’ll be blogging about this adverse reaction from fans calling concerns about Nintendo’s TOS/EULA “rage bait” among other things. Will probably come before all the other posts since, honestly, telling people to “get over it” is messed up in an increasingly enshittified world. Even the word “increasingly” is pulling a lot of weight here. ↩︎ 3. Considering the Internet’s general, piecemeal reaction over time. All I can say is thank God for Tapestry and RSS readers in general because otherwise, I would have gone insane by now. ↩︎ 4. Sans _Mario Kart World_ which, while fun and interestingly arcade-esque, is (for now) very much an open and shut case of Betteridge’s Law. It is worth the bundle price though! ↩︎ 5. See Footnote 2. ↩︎

It looks as if centrists have ousted the far-right Prime Minister in The Netherlands in today's election, and Rob Jetten is the frontrunner to become the new prime minister. He would be the first openly gay Dutch Prime Minister.
