I plan to post more about my efforts to create a trust that distributes my ad revenue to 3rd party developers soon.

In the meantime, please follow @shoots.green!

I see feed monetisation as an unobtrusive, user-centred way to build a sustainable developer ecosystem on this platform. Users can opt out of seeing all #promoted posts by simply muting that hashtag if they so choose; not opting-out allows users to support developers and feed creators like myself.

Graze's cut helps keep feeds like mine online because otherwise I'd be paying for infrastructure costs entirely out of my own pocket.

I'm not a big company; I'm an individual who built something useful as a hobby project. I discuss some of the challenges of running projects on ATProto in this talk:

The key point is "3rd-party". This is being done totally independently from Bluesky PBC (the company running Bluesky and shepherding ATProto technologies, which Bluesky itself is built atop).

Bluesky PBC receives no revenue from #promoted posts; 70% goes to feed creators, 30% to @graze.social.
