You shoveled to get out, not to keep the spot. It's public. Some people get ticketed for littering when they try to leave things in public spaces to reserve a spot.

It has certainly been an interesting transition. Teens/Young Adults are more active and engaged with politics now than they were ten years ago when I started teaching. I thank them for their participation every time I hear them discussing it and they look at me like I'm being strange.
