It's all pseudo-autobiographical power fetish fantasy.

When they say "big government" they mean "government that is one iota larger than the exact things I want it to do to benefit me"

This just in, guy who infiltrated the government to, amongst other things, decimate agencies who were investigating him, says "other people must be using the government for personal benefit!"

Now I guess they get a taste of what it is like trying to reason with a trump supporter.

Dems perpetually make the mistake of assuming that, like conservatives, their constituency are universally single-issue voters. They think nothing they can do will be bad or cost them votes, as long as they don't touch the golden cow. Dems are slightly more complex than that.

So he caved just as fast as he did in the trade fight he picked with China last term.

Anything is too much, as long as they want it, which they always will.

Never, ever expect conservatives to be honest or accountable about their political views. Their political views are: "I will do/say literally anything to own the libs, regardless of whether it completely contradicts the thing I said/did yesterday."

Only 12 more playthroughs, to get all the endings. :)

It's become a battle to try conflate all confidence and conviction as equal. It's the widespread reframing of information as "we are both equally confident, so we must both have equal likelihood of being correct", and then the court of public opinion picks which of the two makes them feel better

People need to stop projecting, and treating conservatives like at any moment their capacity for social shame or hypocrisy recognition are going to magically turn on. It's not. They want power, and they will do and say anything to get it or to at least pretend they have it.

I think treating it like a rug pull may be missing another likely point, which is that it is a not-too-subtle way to circumvent campaign finance laws.

It's no accident that this is happening the week he takes office. He is building a favor-ledger.

All this sounds like a great way to circumvent campaign finance law.

It's not a coincidence that Republicans perform terribly with young people, and they just did something massive "for them". It's political quid pro quo, because they know they need to replace a quickly dying boomer voting block.

Yeah, I just realized that despite how it was internalized to ostensibly make me feel, it wasn't actually even close to being a net-positive for me and my well-being.

I am trying to and starting to unravel that particular negative part of myself as well, the last two days. It wasn't until I was walking away that I realized just how much of a toxic cesspool people have turned meta platforms into.

If politicians ever take a "principled stand" against anything, the question they are answering is "what is lucrative and I'm not able to get cut in on?"

"Danger to America" is politician double-speak for "not profitable for me personally"
