You can't argue for murdering gay people and call that civil. You can't say that black people are less intelligent by nature and call that civil. You can't argue for elimination of freedom of religion for non-Christians and be called civil.

Sadly, most of his defenders agree with his sentiments and hope they'll be normalized via sympathy and respect for the dead.

I’m not big on doctrine. The Bible is an imperfect book written, translated, and redacted by imperfect people. Some had the best of intentions and made mistakes. Others intentionally manipulated the message.
I do know that I believe in love, a radical love that exceeds our understanding.

I don’t believe in hell. I also have no idea what the divine does with people like Hitler. It will be just, whatever it is.

We can find both good and bad in all of those traditions. Our mission needs to be finding the good and rejecting the bad.

I vehemently disapprove of the things Charlie Kirk said, but at the same time, the divine loves everyone, even him. On the other side, he might not be a lost cause. I hope he becomes a better spirit or something.

There’s a reason they call it “Dixie”, but also don’t forget that there are good people down there, too. We need to be better than the far right and not judge people based on demographics.
