These kinds of subtle details tend to go unnoticed by players but always add so much. As a dev this is my favourite kind of addition to games!

I think there's a lot to be gained from referencing outside media: But you definitely don't have to, plenty of amazing games have been made by taking existing concepts and iterating on them.

Wicked cool!

SORRY! If it helps, we've got some hurdles to clear first, so a demo isn't hiding right around the corner. Love your enthusiasm though!!

+1 to everything you said! Looks super cool: I am low key a huge fan of the "fire jetpack" move. Have you seen Zenless Zone Zero? Their combat feel is extremely well-polished, worth a look!

Looks sick! I know you posted about combat but I'm genuinely enthralled by the movement

Love to hear that you felt that way!

One of my favourite RPG videogames of all time (Triangle Strategy) was based around this concept, it's incredibly compelling!

Still great for some content though! GZ

All Ghillied Up from COD4. That one lived rent-free in the minds of game designers for at least a decade.

If I had to pick one for me... Tourian from Super Metroid!

You get it!

Thanks! (We had a cheeky look at your project and it looks awesome too)

Well you got us, both devs are Australian!
January 21, 2026 at 1:25 PM
Good suggestion... Maybe something colossal in scale? :D

Thank you!! (Still needs more work though, such is the art life)

Right? There was something really otherworldly about Morrowind. The mushrooms, the silt striders, even the name Vvardenfell just felt strange. That "strangeness" is something we're hoping to capture with our game.
