This is not a blame game post, but want to highlight something that is problematic but mirrors our use of language towards mental health and suicide.

I came across a video recording of a live edition of Turn Left and their main discussion of the suicide of Virginia Giuffre.

Another post before I go to bed.

This evening I attended the We Demand Change - what next? online meeting, which was interesting but did not give enough of a platform for the audience to put forward comments and positions or ideas.

We are literally sick of this crap!

1,853 reporting sickness from pollution 🤢

4 million hours of sewage discharged 💩

Average water bills rising by £123 💸

If you’re sick of this too, tell the government to bring water into public ownership NOW. 👇🏼

When the tories brought in voter suppression with the ridiculous, spurious reason to stop voter fraud, what they didn’t tell the public is the fraud was happening in their own court.
Now that the gambling commission has brought charges against 15 people including this Tory MP with gambling offences relating to Sunak's announcement of the 2024 GE. Sunak should NOT be allowed to appoint folk to the House of Lords due to this corruption.

From Ellie’s account I’m appalled but not really surprised. It’s easy for streeting and kinnock to say they’ll bring in a national care service, but they must match that with commitment. You can’t take them seriously.

Thank you @elliechowns.bsky.social for highlighting this.

Will gov deliver - no
"Funding social care properly will also save money."

@elliechowns.bsky.social outlines the need to tax the wealth of the super rich fairly to properly fund public services and end the crisis in social care.

It's great that nationalisation of British Steel has also brought new interest in nationalising other utilities such as water and energy.

However, the government will still continue to refuse to nationalise said utilities. Why?

If BS is nationalised with zero cost, then its the same with others

I had no idea of how our social care funding works. Apparently it is still rooted in the 1834 Poor Laws.

And it is 2025!

Yet we use formulas based on 19th Century thinking!!

This is bonkers yet the government are not addressing this.

We need a new formula

Our water and the water sector is in a truly dire, broken state. Nothing won’t rescue it unless we nationalised.

Labour won’t commit to full nationalisation but with the new bill going through parliament, the government won’t have no choice but nationalise.

If not, then we elect those who will

Those elected labour politicians (well most of them) are just utterly loathsome. This opportunistic bullshit from "there's no return to austerity" liar Anas Sarwar just shows they have no shame, unable to read the room.

They need voting out
Is this a joke from Labour?

In the last 3 months Donald Trump has threatened to invade Greenland, Canada, Panama and Mexico.

He's threatened to ethnically cleanse Gaza.

He's lied about Scotland to undermine our healthcare.

And he's now unilaterally plunged his own economy into turmoil.
