The best advice I’ve gotten on course evaluations is to ignore the extremes, both positive and negative, and to focus on what all the other responses are saying. I’ve found this helpful because it’s the opposite of what our brains seem to want to do.

Just finished the @propublica.org article on domestic formaldehyde exposure and it immediately reminded me of this great article by Nicholas Shapiro.

But they were 7, 8, and 9 on the list behind economy, terrorism, $ in politics, health care, education, and social security. Notable partisan diff, too.

I don’t have graduate students, but if I did I would give every single one of them a copy of this book the second they completed their dissertation defense.

Had a great time with Jose Garcia-Fuerte talking about social equity and environmental justice in cannabis with members of the Cannabis Law Society and Environmental Law Society at the University of New Mexico School of Law.

Had a great time chatting with students at Brown University about my book, Policing Methamphetamine, which they were kind enough to read. Fantastic questions about ethnography, anthropology, and what has and hasn’t changed in years since the book was published.
