Seabirds are vital indicators of ocean health. Yet the UK seabird indicator shows a 37% long-term decline, driven by mounting pressures

Further declines in the short-term demonstrate the need to protect our seas now in order to secure our seabirds' futures

Great choice! PKD explores reality in such a unique way. "Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away." What’s your favorite PKD twist? 🪐📚 #SciFi #Valis

"I am, by profession, a science fiction writer. I deal in fantasies. My life is a fantasy."

Fantasies have a lot to answer for. This is a rollicking and very entertaining bok.

Why? Do people use the countryside as a rubbish tip? Our garden is next to a country park, in the middle of beautiful countryside. Yet almost daily I have to clear rubbish from our drive and garden, often fast food packaging empty bottles and tins. Harmful to wildlife This is today's...please stop!

This afternoon, the Planning Bill enters the House of Lords.

Within it is a proposal that would make it easier to destroy the woods, rivers and wildlife we all love - by weakening the laws that keep them safe.

If Part 3 isn’t changed or scrapped, nature will pay the price. ⚠️

Caterpillar eating my plum tree leaves, but will be eaten by the birds...if too many I will drop a few on the ground but far better to let nature take its course and so I encourage all wildlife to the garden to ensure predators and prey abound. #nature #gardening

The Mallards have successfully hatched 6 chicks. Fingers crossed some will survive. We leave this big pond to nature, lots of places they can hide. It is so lovely to see them swimming around their Mom.

I love our universe!
#Astrophotography
Its towering pillars of gas and dust stretch across 100 light-years. A cradle of starbirth, it’s a testament to the universe’s relentless creativity—nature’s own monument to the eternal dance of chaos and beauty. #nebula

Deep in the heart of the Carina-Sagittarius Arm, 9,000 light-years from Earth, lies a cosmic marvel: the Statue of Liberty Nebula (NGC 3576). Its towering pillars of gas and dust resemble a celestial torch of freedom against the infinite dark. #astrophotgraphy

12 million light years away and we can now use computers to help us photograph in the back yard. Technology can be brilliant. Our universe is so amazing, we are lucky to have evolved enough to do this, let's try not to destroy our planet though...

One of the many reasons I enjoy reading novels is the mind and person inventing the story. I also recognise how much hard work goes into a good work of fiction. I don't want to read what a computer has produced thanks, and don't want hard working writers cheated upon.

Saw something this weekend about accepting that authors will write with AI. No. Don’t accept it, don’t forgive them.
I’m seeing a lot of soft takes from industry mutuals at the moment that we shouldn’t be so hard on those who use generative AI because it’s becoming harder and harder to resist.
Wrong. Betraying your ethics (and your peers) because ‘everyone else is doing it’ does not suddenly make it acceptable.
