Look, I’ve loved loads of jobs. Lots of education, research, govt policy, funding, higher ed, teaching. Now I like helping people with this, and cooking, fermenting things, bread and stuff. https://www.duddingstonconsulting.co.uk
One day, this odd-looking sourdough starter (Levito madre) will be panettone.

Fair to say the comments on this don’t agree with the author… Augar is positive about the Skills White Paper for English FE/HE, whilst ignoring the gross underfunding over >a decade is now baked in.

Dr Neils’ Garden at the foot of Arthur’s Seat is a hidden gem. It was the private garden or two local doctors who spent their lives terracing a slope and planting it. It’s now maintained by volunteers and is incredibly peaceful and beautiful

One of Edinburgh’s lesser known castles on my walk this morning. (Although it does feature in Highlander, apparently). #craigmillar

Always feel a change in season when the Edinburgh festival ends. The big crowds leave, the sun is lower and there’s just a touch of autumn in the air

Long walk today up the Twin Cairn Law (hill) in the Scottish Borders. There are two large cairns at the top, legend says in memory of brothers who unknowingly fought each other in battle. The view from the top is to the Cheviot hill in England. There’s a little book in the cairn with a nice notebook
