Electric buses not complicated:

🎵🎶The wheels on the bus go round and round🎶🎵

Trialling an EV bus like trialling the wheel
Don't need a trial
Just need a purchase order

Place an order, go electric

Electric cars don’t have alternators
only ICE cars have alternators and ~1789 other parts
Around 30 parts in electric car
That’s why EVs so much more reliable
Here is my zeekr X7 🖖😬

Range is less important than appropriate infrastructure
Range anxiety effectively blames the vehicle and affordability (and the owner) - and excuses poor infrastructure (government)
End charger anxiety: a reliable, well positioned, well maintained, well regulated charger network is needed

There is no economic argument for nuclear - it only exists with government subsidy

Nukes slow coz it's both complex, and hard: is why it never gets built to budget or schedule
Even in China, nukes take 6-7 years

Batteries better, now here, and arriving faster than solar

important to note solar often doesn't need to take up any land

In Australia, fields of solar panels are also just called suburban rooftops

2/3 of Australia's 41.4 GW installed solar capacity is on the rooftops of Australian homes

~40% of homes have solar

Australia picking up pace on the EVs

My view: it’s not range anxiety that is problematic for the regions, it’s charger anxiety

Funding high speed rail through aviation fuel excise
Dr Chris Jones and Dr Ben Elliston

Aviation lightly taxed
A excise duty could raise $2B/year from aviation fuel taxes
Modest impact on airline fares: 1-way economy class ticket Syd to Mel up ~$12
