Kamchatka tsunami waves apparently travel backwards in time. The quake struck offshore Kamchatka at about 11:24 Wednesday local time, but arrived in Hawaii the previous Tuesday evening there! And all because it crossed the International Date Line. @egu-ere.bsky.social @earthandenvleeds.bsky.social

It has probably happened before, but solar electricity generation has just become the biggest source of electricity generation in the UK. Who would have thought it! @priestleycentre.bsky.social @earthandenvleeds.bsky.social @egu-ere.bsky.social @iisd.org

Just noticed from grid.iamkate.com that the UK is only generating 1.3 GW of electricity from fossil fuels at this moment (09:35 GMT+1 29/05/25). Is it the lowest it has ever been? Please tell me if you know better. @priestleycentre.bsky.social @earthandenvleeds.bsky.social @egu-ere.bsky.social
