An poem with white text over a black background that reads: DO NOT FEED THE DUCKS No duckling raised in the Burgess pond  knows life without scattered bread. Much to the worry of reasonable minds  generosity prevails. A darkness feeds Menlo Park. Crumbs of power and prosperity are promised to those who wind their way to the Sun. Forgoing waxen wings for twisting facts and burning screens into their retinas. No, the ducklings do not all like to walk single file down Embarcadero. Some love looking up at the sides of Porsche Cayennes and spandexed bikers’ tires as they vigorously brush the earth. Others think of the abstract crimson masterpiece their skull would make under a Tesla’s tread; A Mondrian with bone shards. A darkness frees Menlo Park. The winding concrete separates house from home. Escorting all to their dormitories all  enjoyed from 5:45pm to 8am with traffic. At least it’s an asset to shit in and sell, to grit in and ne'er-do-well. A duckling only knows the world that their mother stepped through. A duckling knows the stakes  should they fight this path. The ducklings whose feet ache from this great long weight delay Caltrain for a time.
