Guillermo del Toro @realgdt.bsky.social at tonight’s screening of _Frankenstein_. I liked Jacob Elordi’s performance, the set design of Victor’s lab, and the rendering of the creature’s education! Certainly has me thinking about the novel—loved hearing about how del Toro thinks of the Romantics.

Amazing moment of communal singing during @badvictorianist.bsky.social’s great magic lantern show. We don’t always ask god to bless England at VISAWUS. The constitution only requires we do it at every other meeting. #visawus2025

I love this message in so many ways. Is there really $4,500.00 available to fund my 2018 essay about Richard Marsh’s _The Goddess_? Or does the AI think that I could get $4,500 to design an automaton? Or some plot machinery?

I think I’ve found my teaching persona for fall 2025! Just imagine him talking incessantly about Middlemarch and realism.

Murderbot has started on Apple+. I am loving the clips from Sanctuary Moon and the palpable discomfort with eye contact conveyed by Alexander Skarsgård.
