Dude same. I met him for the first time at the MN State Fair years ago when he was a congressman. He walked over to me, and said, “Hey man, let’s do a selfie. I’m Tim Walz. Everyone here is taking pics with a cutout of Obama and a real DFL congressman is right here. Do me a solid.” 😂

What do these books/subject areas have in common? They form some of the basis of a brand new academic course I’ll be teaching this fall titled “Creating a Meaningful Life.” I’ve just gotten full course approval, and I am so excited to teach this class to college students.

I’m really leaning in to “quiet practices” - things that don’t require screens and force me to slow down a bit. Today over lunch, I had an espresso and sent a few hand-written notes to friends. And k even enclosed some fun stickers for them! I absolutely love sending mail.

I bought two beautiful books in Montreal - one is the 1001 Nights, and the other is Grimm’s Tales. Nights is annotated, and both have such wonderful illustrations.

Nights came from indie bookshop/community room Maktaba and Grimms from Renaud-Bray

I’ve had such a cozy Sunday. I picked up donuts for breakfast, watched several scary movies, made a delightful baked spaghetti for dinner, and spent 14 full hours in my robe. Now I am finishing the evening off with a warm fireplace and a cuddling cat. ❤️

“Lilith” was my favorite read in 2024, followed oh so closely by “Thistlefoot,” which featured Baba Yaga’s house as a major player.

I took this photo of my six-month-old Eeyore just moments ago - he looked so noble!

I’ve low-key been collecting NordicWare pans here and there. This was one of two purchases I made in Black Friday. The other purchase was this mini Bundt pan - I’m going to make mini cakes for neighbors instead of Christmas cookies.

Beautiful day for a walk around Lake Rebecca. The ice was frozen in such a way it looked like a silver web.

Okay since I posted my beautiful picture of The Girl earlier, the boys - ginger Tigger and gray Eeyore - needed a moment too.
