Academic. Interdisciplinary. Never a fan of authoritarians. Technically too old to be on Bluesky. If I post silly and obvious things, be nice.
It may not be long before it's possible for humans to leave the internet altogether and the AI programs can just post to each other.

You are right. And most formal social organizations are under populist and/or authoritarian attack in some fashion.

I think what makes it so weird is we finally achieved representative Democracy on a good chunk of the globe. Now, as we approach several existential crises, it appears humanity wants to face them with tyranny. It's strange to see a Presidential candidate running on who he would execute if he wins.

You know I agree with this approach. Once I get a huge ongoing project finished in the next few months, I might be able to help out. I would much rather work with a small, trusted group than do something as an individual.

2) authoritarianism. I've been collecting solutions lately as a priority over reporting problems. This one goes in my growing collection. Well worth a read.

Thank you. Trying to speak more in terms of solutions than problems right now myself. Adding to my collection!

It's among the most common problems of humanity: It's not what you say. It's what you do. Would Musk love to have anti-semites in his club & receive revenue from popular brands who won't touch Nazis with a 10ft pole? For these guys, the answer always seems to be attack the institutions.

Garrett, I gave you a follow over here. I've dropped most of my notifications on Xitter. It's become too much like a daily fight club. Is there a possibility for engagement generated by nice people, which you are?

Conservatives in Europe were possessed by a nostalgia for feudalism in the early 20th century. Arguably, it factored into fascism when German conservatives handed over control to Hitler.

Fun question. Capitalism is often portrayed as being amoral. However, it does promote a competitive world view, consumption and short-term gratification as "good." As a result, I'd argue It's moral, but perhaps not everyone's idea of what's moral.
