Happy to report that coffee bean supplies were replenished earlier today via a visit to the excellent Etude Coffee, our local roasters in Beautiful Downtown Bungay.

Highly recommended!

By spooky coincidence, I’m just about to open one!

It has to be the Blues Brothers!

The translation apps are invaluable in Japan for timetables, menus etc.

And you never know what’s just around the corner! Spotted this in a tiny, remote filling station up in the hills near Aomori last year

Thanks for sharing! The stretch around Cape Palliser is wild and rugged - highly atmospheric. The climb up to the lighthouse (250 steep steps) was absolutely knackering!

I see your otters and raise you seals and penguins

My Panda lives at the end of a half-mile rutted, potholed farm track. In 10 years, it’s never got stuck, or let me down. It laughs at mud, snow, ice, and more mud! An amazingly capable little machine 😊

Hustler 6. Very nearly bought one - spent a memorable afternoon at Bill Towns’ Interstyl studio deep in the Cotswolds in the early ‘80s looking at them - but Mr Sensible won out (I was commuting weekly between Oxford & Aberystwyth in those days). He was an absolute gent.

This was the crass way in which we marketed British cheese in notoriously lactose-intolerant Japan.

Another gem from my neighbourhood website.

Includes all Bill’s what, I wonder?

Standing on the window-seat just now to remove a cobweb, and then gingerly attempting to get down again, I’ve suddenly realised that I’m turning into Mrs Doyle

What better way to celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day than supper at the Harbour Inn in Southwold.
Aaaaarrrrrhhhh.

Loved this translation of the Beaufort scale in the upper bar (with apols for the shadows):

I just found myself thinking that what Starmer needs is a “Let Bartlet Be Bartlet” moment, but I suspect he *is* being Starmer.

And that, sadly, is this Labour Government’s potentially fatal weakness.

This is the only photo I have on my phone. It’s a 1998 LE (red leather & roof). I’ve had it since 2006 (a 50th b’day present to myself!) I love it to bits. It looks beautiful from every angle, and it’s a joy to drive. Some of the design features (eg the door handles) are a delight.

How nice! I’ve just been followed by fiona82 *and* fiona93

I reckon they must be twin sisters!

Depends how big the numbers are! See eg this display (from a Volvo V40 on ‘Performance’ display setting). It’s far easier to read at a glance than most dials, imho

There are some wonderful works by Evelyn De Morgan in the De Morgan Gallery at Wightwick Manor in Wolverhampton. This intimate little sketch is probably my favourite

Sounds fun, if I can sort out my leaky radiator in time, & it’s considered weird enough!

At last, we have an answer to the age-old question, what lies at the end of the rainbow?

And the answer is…
Bungay!

Something of a disappointment, tbh

We’ve been staying at my cousin’s cottage in Cumbria. This photo (c.1935) was on her wall. Taken outside the small, humble farmhouse near Llandeilo where my gran & her 12 (!!) siblings grew up, it features their offspring (incl. my dad & his 2 sisters), assembled for some special occasion.

Family!

No fewer than 14 contented butterflies on this little cluster
of chives in my cousin Ruth’s Lake District garden yesterday 😊
