It was the original tool to prevent tyranny. No EO or politicized federal prosecution can get a conviction unless 12 ordinary citizens agree.

I am sure they will be persuaded by law review articles.
That said, the 7th Circuit Tuggle case (upholding the practice) all but called for the Court to do something. It’s a pretty remarkable opinion.
