Well I missed the September entry, so October's Backlog Adventure Game was... not from my backlog xD

Majora's Mask is my favorite Zelda game, and a surprisingly hopeful story about how many people one person can help in the face of a seemingly inevitable doom simply by caring for those around them.

A few days late, but August's Backlog Quest game was "Lies of P"! Combining the story of Pinnochio with Asimov's ideas on robotics to create a Belle Époque automaton apocolypse, this methodical Soulslike has a gameplay rhythym that runs like clockwork. If that sounds interesting, check it out!

July's Backlog Quest game was "Nightmare Kart" by @b0tster.yeag.gay! A gothic horror kart racer that absolutely nails the arcade racing feel, rendered in a gorgeous low-poly PSX art style with a killer soundtrack. An expansion is currently in development and looks amazing, so go check it out!

June's Backlog Quest game is "The Hayseed Knight" by @maximjdev.bsky.social, one farmboy's quest to become a knight! Fully voice-acted & animated, beautiful music, riveting writing & characters; if you love visual novels & even if you don't, this is one NOT to miss. On sale on Steam right now!

April & May's "Backlog Quest" game is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt! What started as "I should check this out" quickly turned into a small obsession thanks to superb character writing & engrossing RPG mechanics. It's a big game & I've barely scratched the surface, but I can see why it's so well loved!

On my quest to clear out my backlog, in March I got "productively" distracted by Balatro! A not-so-surprisingly addictive card game, it boils the deckbuilder-rougelike genre to its bare essentials, with a presentation and gameplay loop that make my brain buzz. If you like number go up, check it out!

Continuing my quest to clear my backlog, February was for Donut County! A cute little game about a hole in the ground, raccoons stealing trash, and how communities come together to fix problems caused by greedy corporate interests. Also quadcopters! I had a great time with this one, check it out!

As part of my New Year's Resolutions, I'm working through my backlog one game at a time! For January, that game is Children of the Sun by René Rother. I had a lot of fun with this short and stylish puzzle-shooter, and even though i finished it I will probably go back to it again!

I've not seen that one so I can't say for certain, but I think this one could give it a run for its money

Finally convinced my partner to play Ticket to Ride with me for the first time, and we had a blast! Steel is important of course, but with 145 points nothing stops the Postal Express!

The last day of October... the time for scary costumes, sugary candy, and stop-motion animation! May your treats be many and your tricks few tonight, and always 🎃 Happy Halloween!
