2025 gonna be a big one.

Starting with a surgery on my wonky brain.

It’s gonna be rough, guys. Protect what you have. Support who you can in the ways you are able. Lift up those around you who are most vulnerable, always. Love y’all.

Hemicrania continua and nausea be damned- the chilly weather demands I make a giant pot of tom kha kai.

Really is like old times over here. Some of which is good, but I do worry about the echo chamber…

This hurts to think of, but so very true. So many of our queer elders are missing.
if your "why do gen x and boomers suck so bad ideologically" analysis doesn't include that cool people in those generations disproportionately died of AIDS you are blinkered

Today I bought some bakery cookies and a new plant. Looking for joy.

Real talk. Wife and I are getting our wills and medical/financial POA done asap. Adoptions and birth certificates of kiddos with both of us are already done. What else should we do?

Going to try and migrate here full-time. Have to cut the cord on the bad place.

My wife came up to me thanking me for not letting her stocking go empty like so many married women on her social feeds. Baffling.

Why would a partner (or seemingly, lots of partners?) neglect their spouse like that? Don’t you love sharing their joy? And with something so small?

Just talked to my wife about the joys of conditional formatting for a giant spreadsheet her work team is compiling to track org goals across their dozens of grants. She’s excited to bring it back to them. Data nerd wife for the win!

Just heard about the loss of a beloved childhood friend. Time is so long and short. I wish I could remember the last time we hugged…

Video game averse wife is playing MarioKart with the 15yo and it’s hilarious. She’s trying so hard to get into it because he asked to play together but she’s pretty awful and not really a fan. But it’s really sweet to listen to them banter.

Picked up a new med (for my wonky brain stem) and the pharmacist looked at it, and all the others they have me on, then she grimaced and said “I really hope you feel better soon”.

I honestly chuckled the whole way home.

I love when teens trick or treat. Yes, please come take all my candy! Yes, of course you can also have a pack of Pokémon cards. Enjoy being kiddos 🙂

Okay- where are my chronic headache people? I just got my first ever round of Botox to help and I have questions.

I bought some Xmas gifts for my kids today. It’s made me weirdly anxious. Who is this person prepping 2 months ahead of time, because I swear I don’t know her…

I sure do love when even my “good” insurance requires hours on the phone fighting about pre-authorizing meds I need to function…

I wonder if we could fix that instead of building space hotels?

So… anything interesting happen in DC today?

Direct hit.
(I have this exact organizer…)

Truly. So tired.
Always remember that people like this are a problem only because one of the two major parties is pursuing a reactionary political project that deliberately enables them as deputies of the authoritarian state and relies on them to chase down anything deemed subversive or deviant.

Dang, these WGA deal details are pretty great…

✅Minimum room size
✅Pay increases
✅No AI “writers”
✅Disclosure of streaming numbers w/ residuals to match
✅Guaranteed 2nd step
✅Script fees for staff
✅Writing teams get full payment into pension

Not perfect, but full of some massive wins. SAG next!

Pandering? Don’t care. A sitting President on a picket line is what I want to see!

Thrilled for writers tonight. Such a hard fought victory. Y’all set off a cascade of labor efforts this summer, and I know it wasn’t without substantial sacrifice. I hope you got every line item.

Can’t believe today is Megan Rapinoe’s last day in a USWNT jersey. I understand it’s time, but hard to picture the team without her.

Figuring out how to navigate my new career outside of academia and education- well, mostly. EdTech doesn’t count right?

Proud to have found a new path that is more financially solvent, and way less stressful on my body and mind.

be proud of your work and share it here with us

( my same thread about this last month is kind of borked still i can not even open it lol so lets see how this one goes)
