Vlad can channel Aether at distance by projecting it, since his soul is aspected to an affinity to darkness, it's not very bright, but rather a dark purple when he does it like that, some times appearing like smoke, enveloping the person. When touching someone directly, the transfer is quieter, and doesn’t provide a visual, but, after practicing in the First, he’s learned to control higher amounts, and transfers need to be careful, or he’ll give people Aether sickness. Esteem is an exception, in the way that he needs to be in contact with Vlad to replenish to full, as his soul is just a manifestation, but when in contact, Vlad’s body naturally gives Aether until Esteem is at full. Esteem in particular, is able to drain Aether from others, which doesn’t help with allegations of him being a voidsent. Finally, when Vlad was treating Meteor, he gathered all his dark aether in a sphere over him, and it drifted into him like drops of rain, gently inciting stagnant Light to move, and (unknowingly for them at the time) providing bases to assist with treating Tempered people.

Chapter 7 is up!!

This got a bit out of hand, but I like that I got some more interactions with a few other characters. Its a lot of talking, and the plot is taking a bit to move on, but we're getting there, I promise

A conversation Profe_Gabu Chapter 7: One small step to fixing things Summary: Vlad's plan is simple: Get to the crystarium, treat Meteor, get out. in paper, should be done without a fuss, and yet, the return of the light seems to keep everyone he doesn't want to meet wide awake, and right on his path. Notes: This one got out of my hands quickly... but it seems I got a chance to develop a bit more interactions between characters besides a couple lines of dialogue. The Crystarium was quiet. Unsurprising, considering how late it should be by this point, even if the light itself wasn’t allowing much in the way of darkness, or helping Vlad be stealthy. So far so good, he was glad to report, the guards didn’t react different to his presence, and with the few passersby going around, Vlad didn’t have to prepare to answer uncomfortable questions. Still, staying or loitering about would inevitably invite disaster, so he marched onwards to the inn, after dropping from his mount, on the guards’ request much to his chagrin. He’d be so much faster on it, but oh well.

Vlad is in the kitchen, wearing his chocobo apron and smiling, cooking some sort of stew, he also has a pan in his left hand, as he smiles "Alright! that should be enough simmer, now to add some spices" Vlad then proceeds to gather his things in a table, as he packs everything "That should be enough for the little surprise. Hope it doesn't move much when I teleport" As he fades through the Teleport spell, he's muttering to himself "Please be in the plaza, Pleassseee be in the plaza" Vlad arrives in Slitherbough, still in his apron, and waves at runar, who's standing nearby, apparently watching in the direction of the Aetheryte. "Hi Runar! You busy?" Vlad approaches Runar, as he seems to ponder the sudden arrival. Vlad looks excited still. "Vlad? Not that I don't like your visits, but it's night time already, is all well? I worry that--" Runar's interrupted by Vlad grabbing him by the arm. "Oh, don't you worry 'bout a single little thing. I got you something! Come on!" Vlad took Runar to one of the caves, and set up a table with a lot of food in it. there's salad, meat, soup, rice, and a couple mugs. He's sitting down, holding a bouquet of blue and white flowers in his right hand, and a bottle of wine in the left. "I madde a little assortment of dishes for a surprise Dinner! what do you think!?" Runar is in awe, excited to the point where he can't even sit, "Oh, this is lovely, Vlad! what is the ocassion?" he asks. "Just that I wanted to treat you." "Come here, Vlad. It's wonderful. Thank you" Runar says, pulling him into a hug, "Anything for you, dear." he replies, his head leaning over his mate's shoulder

A conversation Profe_Gabu Chapter 6: Progress through any means Summary: Vlad has much to do, and little time, having been in recovery for longer than he wanted. an unexpected visit might be what he needs, or might mean more distractions on an already busy hrothgar. Notes: This was Looooong, and I'm not entirely sure I'm out of fuel! might start the next one now, that I can still go for it, since I got a couple interactions in mind. still, that one will take a bit to post. Chapter Text Despite the welcome reprieve afforded by Runar, Vlad had things to do, and as such, he had to plan ahead. While he did recover, eventually, the first couple days had him facing dizzy spells on occasion, especially when trying to focus his Aether. Runar did assist as best he could, but with Vlad being stubborn, and on a time constraint, his ministrations had to take a step back, instead focusing on providing narration for the books found on Y’shtola’s studio.

Day 30 - Journey

Vlad knows he travels a lot, and after a lot of negotiations, he managed to get a permit to employ his retainer in a... less orthodox manner. He packs, prepares (if time affords) and leaves his house in his... somewhat capable hands

Vlad, carrying a backpack and a box of implements (not seen) is saying goodbye to Shamut, a Roegadyn ninja and his retainer, sitting on the floor. "Alright, you know the drill, not expecting visits, Meteor's coming with, so anyone says I sent them, it's a lie." A different angle shows the garden, and a miniature aetherite, the box's contents are still not visible, but Vlad is still walking. Shamut, the retainer, says "I'm throwing a Big party though. Promise I'll replace anything broken, chief!" Vlad replies "Why are you my retainer again?" "You said I got a cute butt"

Day 28 - Dream

Vlad usually goes to sleep when extremely tired. his sleep hygiene is poor, and rem sleep isn't common. in short, dreams are hard to come by.

When they do come by though... they're.... odd, to say the least

With a cloudy, or fuzzy background, a creature labeled "Spirit of the nine tailed fox (?)" floats, looking down. "Hearken unto me, mortal..." it says. the camera pans out, and in an inclined angle, we can see Vlad facing the creature, his back turned to the camera. "Heed mine words of warning... heed..." it says, as if vanishing. "Horses technically do not have legs. Structurally they more resemble large fingers, with the hooves being very large blunt fingernails." it says in one go. Vlad is asleep ver some paperwork, mumbling as he dreams, with the light of a crystal lamp nearby. from shock, it seems he wakes up, and takes his bandana off, to rub his head, worried, "... alright, no more sugary drinks before sleeping... ever again." he says, determined to not have that again.

All Saints' Wake quickly approaches, and there's a new venture in a haunted house. it's all fun and games, but always remember, while playful, some voidsent affect the area they inhabit.

Day 26 - Jungle

Vlad is in the middle of the jungle in Thavnair, looking around for something. "Well, a bit of rain doesn't seem uncommon in the Jungle. Guess that's what you get on tropical areas." As he's about to move, finishing his thought, he slips "Well, not to worry about-Wah!" At the bottom of the hill he was standing in, he's face down in the dirt, concussed, probably, and speaking muffled under the dirt, "I hate tropical weather...."

Day 25 - Tribe

Now called Allied Societies, Vlad doesn't forget they were referred to as Beast Tribes. It's history that shouldn't be forgotten, with the implications of those terms...

Delivering an Egg to the sylphs, going crazy with the kobolds, being lightly bullied by the giant Amalj'aa, making Logs of wood for the Ixal, and dancing with the Vanu Vanu Cut to Vlad, in crafter gear and apron, Hammer in the air, Moogle over the anvil, and him yelling at Master Mogzin: "I SWEAR TO THE TWELVE MOGZIN, I'M GONNA HAMMER THEM ONCE FOR EACH PIECE OF BULLSH--" The yelling cuts off as the speech bubble is full now.

Day 24 - Grace

Despite his feats, coordination comes to him with difficulty. in certain places though, away from prying eyes, on the other side of the world, he lets himself go.

No feedback has been given, but considering they like his visits, it appears he is graceful

Vlad is sitting at the entrance of a Far-eastern styled building, fondling his shoes, and removing them before entering. apparently, complying with customs in the site. He is alone, but has most of his samurai gear on him. Now inside the building, Vlad sits in Seiza, as if expecting something. He then stands and extends his arm over to his katana, but then stretches them, as he begins to swap between movements. it appears he is dancing, but his movements are stiff, and perhaps a bit rigid, from what he is attempting to imitate.

Day 23 - Memory

It's good to reminisce, with joy, not sadness, with questions of "what ifs" that carry wonder, instead of pain.

Vlad tends to do so at his landing port in Limsa, back when he was but a starting Arcanist, back before all started.

One eikon resonates with the adventurer. Both find a joy in putting their all on the line when the stakes are manageable.

Vlad is standing in the red kojin home, a couple of them prepared to attack. "Oh no... I seem to be cornered." He says, taking a book in his hand. The blue book opens with a blue shine and old writing from the yanxian region. "If only I had some help." Vlad says after opening his grimoire. The camera turns, and vlad has a smirk on his face, with the book still open behind him "I may need to R E V EL." A bubble of water-aspected aether surrounds him, before bursting with energy. A disembodied voice shouts: "HOW OUR HEARTS SING IN THE CHAOS!" Susano appears behind Vlad, covering him with his sword, while Vlad's grimoire float closed in front of them, no more light coming from it, as if spent. Vlad mocks his opponents "You feeling Wild and pure and forever free?"

Day 18 - Reverie

While he's energetic, and willing to learn, Vlad's energy depletes... eventually, and often, at bad timing.

He certainly is making fame for himself over at the Studium as the most unpredictable student to ever grace their halls.

Vlad is nodding off on his seat, and a couple students are reading and talking to each other behind him./ Professor Purcell is in class, giving a definition: "Now, we define NRR-type harmonic vibration of Aether, as those that resonate with different types of--" While Vlad is noticed, he's dreaming of a previous adventure with his Master, Runar. "Ser Historiador, my class is not the place for sleeping." An opposite view of the classroom shows most of the seats empty, save for a couple students, while professor Purcell, in the distance, keeps speaking "It would seem we have lost the adventurer in our midst..." A close up, shows Professor Purcell has the robes of a Forum member, and while serious, he doesn't seem surprised of the situation. "I had honestly hoped not to reduce myself, nor you to this... but Ser Esteem, would you kindly?" He asks, as if done a million times already. Esteem half-manifests, still blurry, and slaps Vlad in the back of his head, knocking him off the seat, "Gladly. WAKEY WAKEY VLAD!" Vlad only grunts in response as he falls

Day 17 - Unleash

A conversation. Perhaps a bit one-sided, but good villains do love gloating.

Vlad lets a lot pass him by, unaffected, unbothered. But the seven hells have no fury as that of an Adventurer whose loved ones have been threatened.

That's a step too far.

Emet-Selch stands over a tied down Vlad, Vlad is leering at him, baring his fangs, but remaining quiet. Emet-Selch is gloating, as is usual of him. "Now what were you thinking, in that little head of yours? Wanted to be a Savior?" "And that got you, absolutely nowhere, huh? Still, you got pretty far on your own." Emet-selch walks away, turning his back to Vlad "Perhaps I should reward you. A visit to that dainty little forest with all the fanatics, watch as I end them all" Vlad's head lowers, and he murmurs "Fuck you." Emet-Selch, still facing away, keeps talking, not noticing Vlad undid his binds, "Debasing yourself when captured won't do much, I fear." Vlad slams his katana to the ground, and waves of dark aether expand from it. "Check again, you ancient bitch." Emet-Selch doesn't turn around, and says nothing, still looking ahead, and a close up of Vlad shows his sword raised, with a determined expression on his face. "And threaten my loved ones to my face. Careful. I fucking bite." he threatens."

Day 15 - Fragments

Vlad visits the first, on ocassion, to chat with Runar, maybe give him a hand if he's needed. Of course, there are no secrets between them, and while they might not have all details, one can't help but wonder, some times, about their shards.

Runar and vlad are in Slitherbough, Vlad is tending to the field, and a gigantic cabbage in front of him. Runar is making conversation: "Hey, as always, thanks for the help, Vlad. It's really appreciated." "Nolw that you're here, I remembered what you said about the reflections, and can't help but wonder..." Different fragments of vlad are shown, as is Vlad in the last frame, flying on a Cloud mallow. One reflection is a Roegadyn Dragoon, in a world almost swallowed by light, petting a blue chocobo. Another is an Au'ra Gunbreaker, hiding in a dark castle, from an encroaching behemoth. A final one is an Elezen priest, in a lush forest, performing a rite with his moon-shaped staff raised towards the sky and a tree. Runar says "Do you ever think about what your soul fragments might be doing?" We come back to slitherbough, where vlad is finishing tending to the field. "Me and my shards?" he asks, and stands up, cleaning his hands, looking towards Runar, "Nah. I'm sure they're all fine. I'd like to see what shenanigans we can get to, if we meet"
