This is our lab’s 4th summer of hosting high school researchers in the #DesaiLab through a Madison school district program. This year the student built a pair of low cost spectrometers to look at light quality for plants in solar arrays! It worked! #agrovoltaics or is it agri?

It was toe numbing cold but it’s always a joy scouting a new field site for our “agrivoltaics” project, just 20 minutes from campus! Two flux towers will be here in next year and 2 MW of solar production too.

Presented a panel at the Dane County Youth Climate summit yesterday. 200 high schoolers from all over southern WI spending a whole day discussing climate change and how to respond. The kids are alright.
