Sorry, I came across this thread very late. Is the sweating basically a version of hyperhidrosis? Would some hyperhidrosis treatments work to help you as well?

Very cool. Though it took me down a rabbit hole of automatic vs. quartz and their relative merits/problems and collector appeal. :-)

Last Year, by Robert Charles Wilson. What 19th century people would think of 21st century technology (in novel form). Also, there’s Mur Lafferty’s classic The Shambling Guide to New York City (woman has to write tourist guides for paranormal visitors). :-)

It’s an interesting problem. I read that they tend to be big Republican donors, so they have a lot of politicians and Chambers of Commerce protecting them. And, I think the Saturn no-bargaining sales strategy was not really more successful. Maybe a lot of men like “bargaining” despite all the lies?

If you get one, you might want to get something like the Xirqi pill splitter from Walmart, that handles different sizes and holds the pill in place, with a shield on the razor blade.

This seems very well written, though the part I’m a bit stuck on her kidnapping. She was trying to leave without waking the house and this is why no flashlight? He just happened to be there to kidnap her?

That was a rollercoaster! “OK very sketchy…wait, Ozempic is one? …FDA put the others in indefinite limbo with no real plan?…oh, but I hate RFK Jr’s craziness…and this will contribute to inequality if it continues!” Thanks. ;-)

I don’t know if this trend has hit your neighborhood, but some households are asking kids to choose between candy and a potato. There’s a middle-school craze to find households giving out potatoes. 😂😂

Very interesting. Nice observation about senior women getting treated 1-dimensionally/invisibly in plots. There’s a funny TikTok about Midwest moms getting rid of the One Ring. “You would think they would have stopped us in Mordor but we were middle-aged moms in sweaters and no one noticed us!”

Opposite story, a woman on social media said she hired a real down-home handyman to get rid of a hornet’s nest, and he forgot his gloves, so he just grabbed it with his bare hands and slung it into the woods as far as possible. She was speechless!

Also a good example of how there’s quite a few vintage ads that feature middle-aged men for everyday products, not just young men. Appeal to the middle-age customer who has the money!

I guess that’s where it helps to bring someone else along to the gym, or get to know someone who is regularly there same time as you. Someone to chat with, encourage each other.
