I have more in a bibliography I was putting together from that data science project, data science and lit stuff--I don't know that any of it is what you are looking for but if it isn't, that's always helpful for an intro :) I try to read everything tbecause I want the work to exist.

Anna Wilson talks about it some in her Cambridge companion piece. DeKosnik in Rogue Archives—really the whole book is kind of based on AO3.

I have been saying for years that fan studies often uses AO3 and it’s data as synonymous with fanfic ans its communities and that is not accurate. But it will keep happening because it is so much easier to work with…for that reason alone, though, we should be more aware we are doing AO3 Studies
