It is sad, but I learned the things I was supposed to learn & didn’t let it sabotage my entire life. Almost 50 years later & that anxious little kid grew up to extinguish a lot of generational trauma by refusing to allow my poorly managed bullshit to traumatize my own kids🥰

Thanks. I don't post personal stuff much because there's so much more to who I am than the worst I've experienced. I've just reached that age where it feels important to normalize sharing traumatic & hard things without old scars bursting open every time or having trauma dominate their whole life.

I volunteer as a CASA now.

Reaching back to help abused & neglected kids in crisis - to offer support, stability & perspective I wish I'd have gotten as a kid - has been surprisingly healing.

It’s meaningful, grounding work.

My food issues are weird, but logical. The older I get, the more compassion I have for fucked up kid me & the more I understand how many adults still carry deep but invisible scars of childhood neglect.

So yeah, I eat SUPER slowly. I forget meals. I take 3 bites of a sandwich, wander off, & hide the rest in the microwave for a late night 2 AM feast because nighttime still feels like “safe access hours.” Even at my sickest these past 4 years, I almost always get a 2AM N/V/D reprieve.
