The current wave of populism in the UK is in part about inequalities, but I think it is as much if not more due to the nostalgia of an aging population for a mythical time when everything was better. Populists sell them a picture of a time that never existed but which they identify with.

Issues of recruitment and retention in the English education system are systemic and complex. Using some form of 'Officer Krupke' approach really won't work.

I think this tells us something about how leadership is perceived in education and why it needs to change. Is this the negative impact of quasi-marketisation and academisation and it's valourisation of leadership?

I think they have some ideas, I just think they, the system & the media don't really know how to achieve it. Imo it's because they're all incapable of thinking in complex ways. It's a worldview problem. We should be in the complex zone - Whitehall and the media don't work there! They like simple!
