Open worlds can be fine depending on the game, but its just shoved in games cause its expected at this point. A lot of the time having an intended path is a lot more satisfying to progress instead of wandering. Like, borderlands 4 didn't need to be open world.

If I'm remembering correctly the black s class hero isn't actually black, he just started getting darker as he got stronger, which is certainly a choice. That and puri puri prisoner made me loose interest in watching or reading past the first season.
