Our economy is at war with human life. What the climate needs to avoid collapse is a contraction in humanity’s use of resources; what our economic model demands to avoid collapse is unfettered expansion.

Read recently in a post by @profpaul.bsky.social that #climatechange is making air turbulence worse.
I'm glad I've never really enjoyed flying but I'll surely miss these views as I try to take fewer airtrips.

Over the decades, I've changed from being a climate enthusiast to a climate realist. Now that it's clear we're not going to do much about it, adaptation worries me more.
