How high or low a bar it is depends greately on the size of the organization, who you want having access to the data, and what kind of data interoperability the organization envisions bringing them the most value.

Companies should consider investing in their data pipelines with appropriate access controls and responsible practices first and foremost. There's no amount of fancy new models that would make such investments obsolete and it's what will make them efficient and competitive any time in the future.

Up here in Canade, our porposed federal privacy regulation, which had multi-partisan support, got tucked into the AI regulation proposed which the opposition had major objections to, so it's unlikely to pass... and we had our GDPR adequacy renewed which killed any urgency.

And this is with major tech companies lobbying to have one so they don't have to adapt their systems from state to state. It's really unfortunate.

we're finally having to deal with this mess because of GenAI... decades of shoving data in random places coming back to haunt us
