I feel like things will sort themselves out once we get compromised people out of the room. I think we should also ban political machines. How to do that? No idea.

I liked Don’t Look Up, I think most people’s hearts are in the right place. Lots of people don’t understand pluralism and the power of factions within groups. I think we can change the Democratic Party, but it will be hard. I think the easiest way is to flip our focus towards anti-corruption. (1/2)

Hopefully a few of the SCOTUS judges too

For sure, we’re on the same side against what I am calling the Neo-Confederate states who signed onto this court case in support of Trump deploying the Texas National Guard against Illinois’ will. We beat them in court.

bsky.app/profile/prit...
Summary of who wrote in to this case:

On the side of Trump: 22 Neo-Confederate States who support Trump deploying the National Guard.

On the side of the Constitution: The ACLU, 24 bipartisan judges, 31 senators and 130+ House Reps, 43 cities/counties, 23-24 Democratic States, a bipartisan group…
The Supreme Court is really taking its time on the emergency docket case about whether Trump can deploy the military in a state against its will to subjugate it.

The last official action was on Oct 29, 2025.

I think it’s smart to diversify so there are less points of failure & more support. Gotta build the tent as large as we can (with minimum standards). Per Mike Tyson, everyone has a plan until they’re punched in the face.

This is the way.

When one’s paradigm is class reductionist, wealthy people can’t be allies, so there is skepticism and distrust by default.

I’d say it’s even worse: it’s stupid.

“Stupidity is a more dangerous enemy of the good than malice. One may protest against evil; it can be exposed and, if need be, prevented by use of force. Evil always carries within itself the germ of its own subversion in that it leaves behind in human beings at least a sense of unease.… (1/3)

I think he’d agree with you, he’s on the record for repealing Citizens United and getting “big money out of politics” in an interview with Hasan Minhaj in 2024 I believe.

I’d love any resources to learn more, too. Thanks!

I have my own reasons for disliking Rahm, but I’m also relatively new to Chicago. Am I correct that most people in Chicago’s activist base also hate him for closing lots of schools? I believe the concept of bargaining for the common good (BCG) & the CTU’s change arose as a response to his actions.

My perspective is that he opens up a lane for establishment Dems to walk towards the correct path. It’s basically organized escalation, like turning a train around. He’s on the good side IMO.

But it’s definitely incrementalist versus revolutionary for what it’s worth, with plusses and minuses.
