I don't care if it was originally slated to debut in 2020. "Hooked up" was NOT a phrase that existed in the 1990s (among a ton of other anachronisms in the dialogue).

Even less convincing? An Asian American 30-something woman born in San Francisco trying to write 2 male Russian characters living through the downfall of the USSR in the 1990s. The play Mother Russia by Lauren Yee was not good enough for a "world premiere" at Seattle Rep.
