Ngl this seems like a poor solution. I really don't like websites demanding to scan people's faces. Especially kids. They claim they'll delete it but I don't trust it and would be massively concerned about a data breach.

Hint: it's as predatory men. The character not being explicitly trans doesn't mean there aren't negative transphobic implications at play! Anyway, I'm sorry that you were harassed over this. It was completely unwarranted b/c even if you disagree I think your concern is valid.

For example, the crossdressing male killer is a common horror/thriller trope. When I've pointed out to ppl the transmisogynistic implications of this they say "But the character isn't actually trans! So it can't be transphobic!" And I'm like how exactly do you think some ppl view transfems?

I had to look up the joke and frankly I would've had the same reaction as you. It sent my hackles up immediately. I think part of the issue is that some ppl don't understand that media doesn't have to intend a character to be trans to still be doing something potentially transphobic.

I am often somewhat lenient with certain retcons but I'm not able to extend that grace to this sort of nonsense from the same author in the same damn arc like my man it's literally only been a week.

I think that it also explains their willingness to partner up w/ conservative orgs.
