Hello, I am a person. I also have begun to make little #TTRPG bits, and I also write #fantasy books. However, none have been published so far.
Yeah, before now, they liked changing the subheading, I guess, so now they have gone back to Masquerade rather than... reqium, I think that was it, having to add the edition number has added that unfortunate comparison.

I'd never even considered that, but that is a really good point.

Like all the using D&D games are like, Lord of the Rings 5e and Doctor Who 5e. So from a look any 5th edition of anything can easily get tarred with the same brush.

That bucket top is great. Blows people wearing barrels out of the water

It is a shame I can't make it to that. Bloody love Children of Time, I recommend it to everyone who asks for a book rec.

It literally cured me of Arachnophobia, by the way, so thanks for that 👍

Unfortunately, it ain't great.

Most of the stalls are just bigger company corporate kind of stuff, not much soul to them like the little local stands you get in the Exeter one.

It's kind of more there for instagram picture backgrounds is kind of the impression I get of it.

First Law is probably one of the only dark fantasy series I like. I love the way the characters are flawed and have this spark of goodness and a chance to turn things around, but just keep falling short with the pressures of the world or their pasts.

Banger series.

I would highly recommend the Age of Madness trilogy. I would also highly highly recommend the trilogy of short stories that go between the two.

Those short stories and the characters in them are truly great and really bridge the gap extremely well.

Well, I was coming down here to recommend First Law, so sadly, I have little to give you.

So instead, I will wish you good luck on your finding another good fantasy series quest.

Yeah, the new version is called walking wake. I don’t know if it's more competitively viable, but it looks pretty rad

Oh my goodness. Now that you mention it, I can see the lines of the cut paper, that's brilliant. A TTRPG collage.

Can't believe I never noticed it before.

Thanks for the tip.

I do always love Grant Howitt's one page TTRPGs.

It always inspired me to make my own. I have plenty of ideas but I've only posted 1 so far.

I feel like I got the mood I wanted but stylisticly I couldn't hit that wonderful ramshackle look that Grant gets.

The literal Call of Cthulhu Keeper book itself addresses the idea on page 185 that you can cut out the sexism and racism that was in the time period if you and your group don't want to deal with it.

Making things more comfortable for players is playing rules as written.

These folks are fools.

Eastshade would be a cool one. I just want to see how one could do making paintings mechanically. That would be really interesting in a TTRPG.

You could probably do something amazing with Spiritfarer, too. Fits into the way my favourite stuff in TTRPGs tends to be going around and talking to folk.

When you change into your sentai form the highest number on the die was always a success as well, so when I was in power ranger mode I was hard to stop when it came to footwork.

The theming was just great fun, also the way it asked you to come up with how your weapon combo attacks looked and stuff.

I really enjoyed the dice mechanic where the different "classes" had different dice, then you had a list of "skills" that had succes numbers next to them.

Like footwork was 3,4,5. So me playing the ronin and rolling a d6 meant I had a pretty good chance to succeed in dancing or darting around.

Oh wow, this is some good stuff

Now that is decidedly interesting
